In the first month of the Islamic calendar, Muharram means “forbidden” or “sacred” in Arabic. What is Muharram word?
Muharram word is derived from the Arabic term “Al-Muharram”, which means restricted or disallowed, and one of the four holy months of the year. It means that this month is off-limits to fighting. Before Islam, according to certain researchers, the month was known as “Safer al-Awwal.”
